The Department of Crime has major in Crime Analysis and Crime Prevention.
Criminology is the key field in promoting the ability to identify the cause of crimes and presenting political solutions through theoretical understanding and methodological analysis of crime, and it undertakes a key role in comprehensively understanding and analyzing various social phenomenon through collaborating and converging with various social study fields including sociology, psychology, education and ecology. Criminology aims to provide basic theoretical and methodological training to promote the academic capabilities of students as criminal experts, and through allocating equal emphasis on policy, insight and administration, it provides training to promote skills necessary to undertake public safety administration with an understanding of practical theories. In order to achieve such, criminology operates criminal analysis studies and crime prevention studies.
Criminal Analysis Studies
Criminal analysis studies aim to strengthen the ability to present qualitative and quantitative solutions for crimes identified in personal, organizational and social levels. Through learning skills to comprehensively utilize various theories and analyzing criminal materials collected, theoretical and practical studies form balance in research and education.
Crime Prevention Studies
Specialized investigation, investigation case seminar and crime prevention aim to research and study theoretical and practical methods of reducing damage or preventing criminal activities by recognizing and evaluating situations. In order to reduce or prevent criminal activities before it occurs, it studies and studies strategies and techniques which utilize various resources including the government, private organization and local communities in academic and practical perspectives.
